WHY STUDY AT UNIKL?
UniKL’s graduate programmes offer the ideal balance of state-ofthe-art classrooms, computer technology, relevant and innovative
curriculum, and opportunities for practical application. Our
programmes have been designed to respond to the needs of the
industry for qualified personnel in engineering technology or the
science discipline.
The theoretical and practical nature of our graduate programmes
enables you to apply the advanced concepts learned directly at the
workplace. Our graduate programmes are specialised and designed
to meet the career needs of students by offering relevant, up-to-date
skills.
RESEARCH AND POSTGRADUATE CENTRE
At UniKL, research and development is managed by The Centre
for Research and Postgraduate Studies (CRPGS). CRPGS was
established in 2003 to facilitate research activities which include
exploration for research funds, research awareness training and
development of research policy. Our university has a unique profile of
international research in several top rated areas.
The main goal of the programmes is to train graduates to be global
enterprising researchers who are knowledgeable, skilled and
enterprise-oriented. The master’s and PhD programmes are based
on full or part-time research study and will cover a wide range of
technology specialising in engineering technology.
The registration, student records, examinations, fees, etc. of
postgraduate students are managed by the CRPGS. Students
undertaking a master’s / PhD (by research) are required to register
and complete two compulsory university modules, i.e. Research
Methodology and Entrepreneurship and Innovation. Concurrently,
the students have to work closely with their respective supervisors
to produce a relevant research topic. Within 6 months the proposal
will be examined by an appointed examination panel to validate if
the contents meet the standards of the pursued level of study. The
additional purpose of the examination is to ensure the research
topics are in line with the university’s research focus area and contain
potential commercial outcomes.
