ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
Universiti Darul Iman Malaysia (UDM) is the eighteenth public university in Malaysia. Established on 1 January 2006, it is the first university to be based on the “cluster” concept. UDM aims to be an internationally recognised institute of higher learning that produces future leaders who are talented and trained, well educated, also have high regards for culture and high morale, plus a towering personality.
UDM currently has two fully-operational campuses in Terengganu that is, the City Campus and KUSZA Campus. The third campus will be located at Besut and is expected to be operational in a few years.
The UDM KUSZA Campus focuses on teaching and researching Islamic knowledge which harmonises with conventional knowledge, while the UDM City Campus offers Allied Health Sciences programmes such as Nursing, Radiography and Medical Laboratory. Meanwhile, the UDM Besut Campus which is still in the pipeline will focus on Agriculture and Agricultural Bio Technology and other related courses. The courses offered at these three campuses do not overlap and each has a separate and identifiable niche.

POSTGRADUATE STUDIES
The university offers a wide range of postgraduate programmes

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Admission requirements to postgraduate programmes are as follows:
Master’s (MA):
- The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree with honours from
any institution of higher learning recognised by UDM Senate
- Bachelor’s degree holder with 3 years working experience
- Other equivalent qualifications recognised by UDM Senate
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD):
- A master’s degree from UDM or any institution of higher learning recognised by UDM Senate
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience recognised by UDM Senate
- International candidates must have a TOEFL score of 550 or an IELTS score of at least Band 5
- Candidates must complete research between 1-3 years for Master’s
(MA) and 2-5 years for Doctor of Philosophy at UDM Kampus

- Full-time: 6-12 semesters for PhD and 2-6 semesters for Master’s (MA)
- Part-time: 8-14 semesters for PhD and 4-10 semesters for Master’s (MA)

Application forms can also be downloaded from www.ppps.udm.edu.my. Each application is to be submitted with a postal order for the
sum of RM5.00 to be made out to “Bendahari UDM”. Please include
a self-addressed A4 size envelope with RM1.00 stamp.

ACADEMIC FACILITIES
A lot of attention has been given to academic facilities. UDM provides
lecture rooms, tutorial rooms, seminar halls and workshops that are
conducive to the learning process. Meanwhile, other facilities relevant
to the learning process are also provided such as libraries, language
labs, computer labs, clinical labs, and other facilities found in local
higher educational institutions.
STUDENT ACCOMMODATION
To ensure a comfortable learning environment for the students, the
management have built four modern residential colleges. Three of
the residential colleges are situated in the KUSZA Campus while one
is located in the City Campus. KUSZA Campus has 38 blocks with
2,379 rooms while the City Campus has 2 blocks with 44 rooms.
These four residential colleges can accommodate up to 4,800
students. Cafeterias are also provided for the convenience of students
and staff.
SPORTS AND RECREATION
UDM provides a gymnasium to accommodate sports such as
badminton, squash, volleyball and also exercise areas. Facilities for
other sports are also provided such as a hockey field, tennis courts,
sepak takraw courts, archery range and many more. Transportation
is provided for off-campus sports and recreational activities. The
KUSZA Campus is located about one kilometre from the Gong Badak
Sports Centre, where various sports facilities are available for use.
LIBRARIES
UDM has a library building in the KUSZA Campus that can
accommodate 300 users at one time with a collection of 140,000
reference materials (which includes books, journals, magazines and
newspapers). There is another mini library in the City Campus.
OTHER FACILITIES
There are over 50 student societies involving various activities
for students to join. Students can learn to improve their talents
in leadership, management, organisation, entrepreneurship and
others.
Students seeking financial aid can apply for loans or scholarships
from organisations like PTPTN, MARA, Yayasan Terengganu,
Yayasan Sabah, Yayasan Pelajaran Johor, Yayasan Islam Kedah,
Felda, Koperasi Polis and more.
Prayer facilities for students and the campus community are
available. For that purpose, UDM has provided a mosque that can
accommodate up to 3,500 people. The Islamic Centre organises
many activities from time to time. UDM views these facilities as not
only beneficial to the university population, but also an important part
in the development of the local community.
The Career and Counselling Unit plays a role in ensuring that students
achieve a balance in knowledge and become good individuals,
subsequently helping the university to produce quality graduates.
Qualified counsellors are appointed to guide the students in ensuring
that their problems and difficulties are addressed and solved.
